Aston Rural Enterprises is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, or who browse using a keyboard alone.

Our approach

This site is built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in mind. Practices we follow include:

• Meaningful page titles, headings and landmark structure so pages can be navigated with assistive technology.
• Text alternatives (alt text) for informative images.
• Colour contrast chosen so text remains readable against its background.
• Links and buttons that can be reached and operated with a keyboard.
• A responsive layout so content reflows on phones, tablets and when text is enlarged.
• No content that flashes, auto-plays sound, or moves in a way that cannot be paused.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-off task. We review the site as content changes and aim to fix issues as we become aware of them. Some third-party content or older material may not yet meet the standard we aim for.
