Privacy Policy

Aston Rural Enterprises ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us or request a quote for gates, fencing or gate automation, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, or that we need to prepare a quote and carry out work. This can include:

• Your name, and the contact details you provide (email address and phone number).
• The property or site address, and details about the job, such as opening sizes, the gate, fence or automation style you want, and access or site conditions.
• Any photos or plans you upload or send us of your site, driveway or existing gates and fences so we can quote accurately.
• The content of your enquiry and any later correspondence with us.

We do not ask for, or knowingly collect, sensitive information, and you do not need to create an account or provide payment details to request a quote.

How we collect it

We collect this information directly from you, through the quote and enquiry form on this website, or when you email, call, text, or message us on Facebook.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote;
• Arrange and carry out a site visit, measure up, fabricate, deliver and install your work;
• Contact you about your job or quote, including any follow-up; and
• Keep basic records of work we have quoted or completed.

We do not use your information for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share it with

We keep your information to ourselves and share it only where needed to run the website and respond to you:

• Form delivery. Enquiries sent through the website form, including any photos you attach, are passed through our website host to Resend, an email delivery service, which emails them to our inbox. If an enquiry email can’t be delivered, it is stored securely in JB Digital Barossa’s client portal so it can be followed up.
• Our web developer. A copy of each website enquiry also goes to JB Digital Barossa, who built and look after this website, so they can check enquiries are arriving. It is not used for anything else.
• Website hosting. This website is hosted by Netlify.
• Website analytics. Google Analytics, as described under "Cookies and analytics" below.

These providers only handle your information so the website and enquiry form work, and some of them may store data on servers located outside Australia. We do not otherwise disclose your information, except where we are required or permitted to by law.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to show us how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city or region), what kind of device they use, and whether they tapped the phone number or sent an enquiry. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. We use these reports only to improve the website, and we do not run advertising pixels on it. Our Work page links to our Facebook page. It contains a Facebook embed that we keep switched off, but when you move to that page from elsewhere on the site your browser may briefly contact Facebook, which can set its own cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn off Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Enquiry forms and follow-up

When you type your email address or phone number into the quote form on this website, we save what you have entered so far (your name, contact details and the details of your enquiry), even if you do not press send. We do this only so that Aston Rural Enterprises can get in touch once to help if your enquiry was interrupted. We never save passwords or payment details. If you clear the form, or tap "Clear" under it, what you typed is deleted. If you do send the form, the unsent copy is deleted straight away. Otherwise, saved details are deleted automatically after 90 days. They are stored securely in Australia by our website provider, JB Digital Barossa, and are not sold, shared or used for marketing lists. To see or delete anything we hold about you, or to ask us not to contact you, email admin@astonruralenterprises.com.au and we will action it promptly.

Storing and securing your information

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it to quote, complete and stand behind our work, or as required by law, and then remove it when it is no longer needed.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Just get in touch using the details below and we will help.

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
